| Yes, I agree. If we plan our routes strategically we can most definitely become a really strong alliance. Now that we have GI on board, I think we will be ok for Asia. Are any of you considering expanding on another continent? | |

| Within Australasia its actually not too profitable as there are only little "expensive" airports.. but it does extend our route map and it is quite profitable when you connect Australia to Asia vv. and Aust to the US is also very profitable. | |

| Yes, the USA is always profitable but usually that comes with loads of competition.
Garuda make sure you use the right aircrafts in Australia, or the maintenance costs will eat away at your profit.
I find that Europe, Asia and America are highly profitable continents however it is possible to make it big in the other continents too, if you start at the right airport, use the right aircrafts and have lots of patience.

| the problem with asia is that there are too many under 150000 airport which doesnt give u as much profit.
I think i wouldnt be too aggressive on the Australasia. I might just open it for extending my route map. I find that the A330 are better for the Australia to Asian routes. domestically, it is quite hard to compete as there are or there will be a very huge competition around

| True re Asia Airports yes, but if you plan it carefully and use the correct aircraft, you can still make good profit on the domestic routes.
Personally I have never pursued Australia, so will not be able to say anything out of experience. What is your average profit on your Australian routes?

| I havent open and Australian routes but based on my experience, Australia to Asian will give you more then 125k sometimes more then 150k if u got lucky with the competition.
garuda has just open a hub in jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport. If you would like to open connecting flights to Australia via Singapore or Jakarta please tell me and I might consider it. thanks
